Canvas, suede and leather are some of the most commonly used sustainable materials for making these Hey Dudes. Since they are used extensively for all types of outings, they tend to get dirty soon. However, don’t worry; cleaning them is not a complicated task. The only thing you have to remember is to use the right cleaning method for the right material of Hey Dudes.

Washing Hey Dudes In A Washing Machine

• Using a clean cloth, get rid of the mud and excess dirt on your Hey Dudes before putting them in the washing machine.
• You have to remove the laces and insoles of your Hey Dudes before washing them in the machine. Laces and Insoles can get distorted or damaged when washed like this.

Washing Hey Dudes by hand

• Using a clean cloth or paper towel, you have to wipe off the excess dirt marks and patches on your Hey Dudes. This can be done if your shoes are very dirty.
• In a bucket of water, mix a few drops of mild liquid detergent and swish the water well until you notice bubbles forming in the bucket.
• Dip a clean towel or microfiber cloth in this solution and blot the dirt marks on the Hey Dudes gently. Wipe the sides where you notice a lot of dirt patches.
• If some places of the shoes still have dirt marks, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub gently and get rid of these marks.

• Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub the dirt patches on the soles. Make sure to scrub gently until you notice that your soles are clean.
• Dip a clean towel in a bucket of lukewarm water, and wring it well. Use this towel to wipe your Hey Dudes gently but thoroughly. Make sure that the soapy residues are completely wiped off the shoes.
• Allow your Hey Dudes to air-dry thoroughly. Don’t put them to dry under direct sunlight. You can place crushed paper rolls inside the shoes to retain their shape while drying.

How to clean suede Hey Dudes

• Use a suede brush (not any other brush) to wipe the sides of your suede Hey Dudes. Brush thoroughly to get rid of all the patches and scuff marks.
• If there are any harsh stains on your suede Hey Dudes (like oil or grease marks), dip the suede brush in a bowl of cold water, and scrub over the stains well to get rid of them.
• Keep blotting the shoes with a clean & dry cloth, until all the stains and dirt marks have lifted completely.
• Let the shoes air-dry throughout the night.
• Once you are sure that the suede Hey Dudes have dried completely, you can apply a layer of suede protector over them to keep them free from stains & damage. However, give this protector about 30 minutes of curing time before you use your Hey Dudes.

Please buy cleaners exclusively manufactured for leather or woolen fabrics so that you don’t damage your shoes. Also, remember that you should never wash suede, leather, or woolen Hey Dudes in a washing machine. Always wash them by hand to retain their shape and size.
